The Oklahoma Sooners have a sports legacy that is storied and vast. With 19 varsity sports, the greatness of the Sooners spans the entire academic year, from early Fall all the way through Spring. As a member of the Big 12, the Sooners are known for the Bedlam series – a rivalry with Oklahoma State University that takes place in each sport. At the end of the year, the school who has won the majority of the match ups between the two schools takes home the Bedlam Bell.
Oklahoma Sooners Basketball
Sooner basketball has held the nation captive through many NCAA March Madness playoffs, winning 18 national championship titles. Home games are hosted in the Lloyd Noble Center which has seen some 4 million Sooner Fans pass through its doors. ESPN analyst Jay Bilas is quoted as saying:
“Oklahoma’s basketball facilities are magnificent – second to none. Everything is top of the line and very well conceived. These facilities communicate the same message the Oklahoma Sooners do through their play – a commitment to pursuing excellence.”

Oklahoma Sooners Football
Oklahoma Sooners football, with its seven national titles and five Heisman winners, is arguably the most storied program in the athletic department. Football has been played in Oklahoma since before Oklahoma was a state.
