Experience a treat for your ears as you enjoy a concert from the University of Okahoma’s College of Fine Arts Students. While school is in session, there are different concerts available every week – sometimes daily! Be sure to check out the calendar of events and plan to stop by for a musical treat.
Fred Jones Museum of Art
The Fred Jones Museum of Art offers five permanent collections : Art of the Americas, Asian Art, Contemporary Art, European Art, and Photography. Of course the museum also offers special exhibits. You can make your way through the museum on your own, with a guided tour, or with a new iPod tour. The museum is open Tuesday through Sunday, closed Mondays and University/major holidays. And admission is always free!
Sam Noble Museum of Natural History
At the Sam Noble Museum of Natural History, you will be immersed in history, beauty, and awe from the moment you walk in the door. From the Hall of Ancient Life to the Discovery Room, and everything in between, you will see displays featuring the history of Oklahoma, immersion dioramas, and so much more. The museum is open 7 days a week, 362 days a year and also features an onsite café.
Be sure to take in a show at the historic Sooner Theatre. Events include musicals and stage productions featuring local talent as well as national music performances, all of which you can find on the events calendar. And it’s not just the shows that are interesting – the theatre itself was built in 1929 and features Italian marble and Spanish tile.
The Riverwind Casino offers more than meets the eye. It features an extensive list of performances – from musicians to comedians – all throughout the year. You can find something you’ll love to see on the casino’s stage.
